Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

 

CBT uses practical self-help strategies. These are designed to immediately improve quality of life.

CBT may help to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. 

Solutions Focussed Brief Therapy

 

Solutions Focussed Brief Therapy places focus on a person's present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. In this goal-oriented therapy, the symptoms or issues bringing a person to therapy are typically not targeted.

Acceptance and 

Commitment Therapy

 

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on helping people to behave more consistently with their own values and apply mindfulness and acceptance skills to their responses to uncontrollable experiences.

Dialectical 

Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

 

DBT helps people who have trouble managing their emotions to change unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving and to accept who they are. They learn skills to build a ‘life worth living’.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.
